Am wondering, as I am keen to get involved much much more next year when I start the third, whether there will be opportunities for the third years to participate in mooting as I know from last year they couldnt. I would really love to find out where else (not too far away) I can do some mooting or debating to try and rack up as much practice/experience as possible to try and secure one of those all important sacred pupillages! Any thoughts or advice?

Hi to everyone who is aspiring to be a barrister and therefore looking at this website! I am just wondering as the new term will be upon us sooner than we think, who is still going to be involved (as I wish to be) in putting on events for the aspiring students, such as taster days and trips to the Inns. I am endeavouring to join and train for the FRU in Chelmsford and am also doing a study home course on effective public speaking to try and rack up as much experience as poss. Do all the other third years, as I do feel they would like another round of mooting? We could just have third years only perhaps?

Hello. Following on from everything, I have definately secured a tour of Middle Temple as well, and a lunch there (which will cost more unfortunately, but totally worth it for the opportunity to meet with barristers). Unfortunately, Grey's only do tours on Friday lunch times, and have no availability for quite some time. Lincoln's is unavailable also, but we're going there on the pupillage fair, and you all had an opportunity to go on the meal trip through the uni.
What I thought would be a nice idea would to have a private talk, presentation and tour by one of the BVC providers. BPP have kindly obliged to do this, so we will be going there also, and it gives you a chance to talk to staff and see the law school on a normal day.
I hope that you all enjoy the day! xxxxx

TRIP ON THE 5th!!
Hello all you lucky people who have secured a place on what will be a fantastic day! We all meet at 9.30 at the bus stop to get on the coach to Middle Temple.
We will be having lunch at Middle Temple along side barristers and then make our way to have an exclusive tour of Inner Temple.
Following on from this we will have a private tour of Middle Temple, where you'll be able to see the Inn and ask any questions.
Finally, we will go to BPP for a group tour and presentation. Here you will you will have the opportunity to meet BPP's staff and ask any questions you may have about the BVC in general. Remember, the staff who teach the BVC are barristers, so this is a great networking opportunity. This provides a fun and interactive way to:
find out more information about the BVC. see the quality of BPP’s facilities and resources Then we'll get the coach at 6pm to arrive in Norwich at 9pm. Any questions, email me! s. hawary@ uea.ac.uk Suzanne x

This is a unique experience to have a private tour around Inner Temple. To be a barrister you must join an Inn of Court. We are hosting a trip on 5th March 2008. The coach will depart from the porters lodge on campus at 11am, where 22 suited and booted UEA students will whisked to Inner Temple in London. This trip is a one off opportunity to have a guided tour of Inner Temple before joining and deciding what you think of a career at the bar as well as the actual Inn. This trip is limited to ONLY 22 places, on a first come first serve basis. It will cost £10.
Sign up: the hive, Wednesday, 10am.

It might be an idea to organise it so that people can go down as a group to the pupillage fair in London. I know some people who are going already, but it might be an easy way to have a first event to get to know each other and have drink in London afterwards?
Another idea might be to speak to the academic officers at the Inns and see if we can get a tour of all four Inns in one day so people can make an informed choice.
